Blacksburg to Raise Money for Ailing Men

Two Blacksburg men will have an easier time paying their medical bells thanks to the efforts of their neighbors in this small Cherokee County town. Carl Hughey, Blacksburg Chief of Police, and Nelson Young, of The Sandy Valley Boys band, are organizing a benefit for Johnnie Hampton, of 405 Cherokee Ave., and Buck Pennington, of 406 Rutherford St., with the help of the whole community.
